Incheon arts group Dottgabi Contents, led by Lee Sae-bom, has completed the 2025 Resident Company Development Program in collaboration with Bupyeong Art Center (Bupyeong Cultural Foundation). Supported by Incheon City and the Incheon Cultural Foundation, Dottgabi served as the center’s resident company from March to December, delivering four program streams including new productions, public programs, and street performances to energize local arts. The program culminated with a showcase of the original musical "Tal, Hayotdoda!" which reinterpreted the nationally designated intangible heritage Eunyul Talchum (traditional mask dance) for contemporary audiences, combining mask dance, jangdan (traditional rhythms), a live band, and modern movement. The company also lowered barriers to performance with a June musical busking event on Bupyeong Cultural Street that reached about 200 people, and delivered arts education—61 elementary students participated in a children’s mask-dance program ("Tal, Tal, Tal!") and a student-led theatre workshop ("Uddugi"), fostering creativity and self-expression. Using Bupyeong Art Center’s production resources and mixed offline/online marketing, Dottgabi established a systematic production workflow and boosted community engagement, cited as a model of venue–company collaboration. The group plans to build on this experience to develop new projects that broaden Incheon’s cultural landscape and create a sustainable local arts ecosystem.
