G-DRAGON’s Daisy Ale Sparks Convenience-Store Craze, Hits No.2 in Sales

G-DRAGON (K-pop star) endorsed ale beer “Daisy Ale,” sold exclusively at GS25 convenience stores (GS25) and produced by Japanese brewery Hitachino Nest with design by fashion brand Peace Minus One, reached second place in overall beer sales just 10 days after its offline launch. Preorders on the ‘OurNeighborhood GS’ app (우리동네GS) sold out quickly — 888 sets per day sold out in about one minute during a three-day event — and new sign-ups to the wine25plus (와인25플러스) service rose more than fivefold. GS25 says Daisy Ale’s stylish design, brand story, and unique taste resonated strongly with the MZ generation (Millennial and Generation Z), with roughly 70% of sales coming from consumers in their 20s and 30s compared to the beer category average of 45%. With continued growing orders and sales, GS25 expects Daisy Ale could challenge for the top beer spot soon.
