A severe cold wave hit most of South Korea on December 26, leaving icicles clinging to railings along the breakwater at Gangmun Beach in Gangneung, Gangwon Province. Authorities issued cold-weather alerts across much of the country as temperatures plunged, causing freezing conditions and visible winter damage along coastal and urban areas.
