A major retrospective celebrating the 110th anniversary of American illustrator and children’s author Tasha Tudor is on view at Lotte Museum in Jamsil, Seoul through March 15. The show gathers about 190 works — original illustrations, watercolors, drawings, handmade dolls and video — and presents Tudor’s life and art through 12 themed sections centered on nature, family, handcrafts, and gardening. Visitors encounter first editions of signature books like 1 is One and Mother Goose, media-art installations, and reconstructed domestic spaces (kitchen, greenhouse, studio) that evoke Tudor’s simple, self-sufficient country life in Vermont. The exhibition highlights Tudor’s devotion to seasonal gardening, animal companions, and handcrafted holidays, portraying how everyday moments and close ties to nature formed her idea of happiness. Plant sketches and specimen sheets illustrate her practice of tending the garden as daily reflection.
