The 2025 MAMA Awards in Hong Kong shifted its production within 24 hours to honor a city mourning a major fire disaster. Organizers added a “Support Hong Kong” message and toned down flashy effects—removing pyrotechnics, changing lyrics, and cancelling some high-energy stages—to emphasize healing, unity and the original power of music. The show, led by veteran PDs Ma Doo-sik and Lee Young-ju, used house live bands, special stage designs (including tiger-themed sets) and careful artist collaboration to create intimate, emotionally resonant moments for over 70,000 fans. The event highlighted the MAMA brand’s global reach, quick production systems in K-pop, and its goal of bringing “Music Makes One” to audiences worldwide.
