South Korean fried chicken brand BBQ has opened its first U.S. drive‑thru store in Franklin, New Jersey, adapting to car‑centric suburban eating habits. The 132 m² location serves signature K‑chicken items like Golden Fried Chicken, Secret Seasoned Chicken, and Honey Soy Garlic Chicken, along with Korean sides such as tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), gunmandu (pan‑fried dumplings), and kimchi fried rice. Founded in 2003, Genesis BBQ now operates about 700 stores in 57 countries, roughly 450 of them across the Americas. In the U.S. the chain has around 250 stores with contracts for 100 more, and was ranked third on Yelp’s list of America’s most beloved brands for 2025 in several regions. The drive‑thru move targets suburban customers who prefer ordering and picking up from their cars.
