Nongshim’s global commercial for Shin Ramyun, featuring K-pop girl group aespa, has surpassed 130 million YouTube views within a month — the best performance among Shin Ramyun ads. The spot, styled like a music video to showcase aespa’s appeal, uses a remake of the Spice Girls’ 1997 hit “Spice Up Your Life” and introduced a playful “Shin Ramyun dance” (a choreography mimicking opening a ramen packet and pouring water). Fans praised the catchy tune, choreography and production quality in hundreds of comments. Nongshim launched limited “Shin Ramyun aespa special packages” (multipacks with group images and single packs with individual member photos and collectible photo cards) in China, Korea and Australia. The company says the milestone shows Shin Ramyun is becoming a cultural icon and plans to push ‘glocal’ marketing for its 40th anniversary with more product variations and global promotion to consumers in over 100 countries.
