Blackpink member Jennie drew attention at the 2025 Melon Music Awards in Seoul by wearing stage outfits inspired by Korean heritage. She appeared with a roughly 15-meter cotton veil printed with verses from Cheongguyong-eon (청구영언), the first collection of Korean song lyrics recorded in Hangeul (the Korean alphabet). Her inner set featured images of traditional Korean crafts like norigae (ornamental pendants) and eun-jangdo (silver short sword). For her award moment she wore a “Seokgatap” dress whose center pleats echo the shape of the Seokgatap pagoda at Bulguksa (a national cultural heritage site), aiming to express Korean aesthetics of proportion and balance. The designer brand said Jennie’s long-standing love for Korea and Hangeul inspired the look. Fans praised the fusion of tradition and K-pop and noted such global stages help promote Korean culture. Jennie has also topped charts this year with “Ruby” and performed at major global events like the Met Gala and Coachella.
