The 7th Nami Concours results were posted on the official site after entries from 1,932 works across 90 countries. An international panel of five picture-book experts conducted two rounds of blind online and offline judging, selecting 18 winners at a final meeting in Seoul. Grand Prix went to Belgian artist Astrid Verplancke for Account of the Shipwreck, praised for its painterly technique and expressive narrative. Two Golden Island (gold) winners were Hadi Baghdadi (Iran) for The Last Safari and Armando Fonseca (Mexico) for The Animal in the Stone. Korean artists Hong Sohee and Choi Do-woon won in the Purple Island (bronze) category. Prizes include $10,000 for the Grand Prix, $5,000 each for Golden Island winners, $2,000 for Green Island (silver) winners, and awards and plaques for Purple Island winners. Winning works will be showcased in exhibitions, catalogs, videos and other media, and will be presented at the Bologna Children's Book Fair in Italy next April. The awards ceremony will take place May 14 during the 2026 NAMBOOK: Nami Island International Children’s Book Festival on Nami Island (a cultural arts and tourist island), where jurors and winners will celebrate together.
