Seoul Museum of Art opens Choi Jae-eun's first national public-museum solo exhibition, 'Choi Jae-eun: Where Beings Be', on the main floor of Seosomun through April 5 next year. The show spans sculpture, video, installation and architecture, presenting key works from the artist’s career and new pieces grouped into five themes: 'Lucy' (origin of humanity), 'Warning Bell' (video works combining sea-surface temperature data and ocean imagery to visualize climate crisis), 'Microcosm' (cycles in the microscopic world), 'Dawn' (attention to tiny beings), and 'Natural Nation' (reframing the DMZ as a nature-led space). An archive of major works is on view, and a participatory workshop based on a 'seed ball' project lets visitors make sunflower-seed-and-soil spheres. Admission is free, no reservation needed, and multilingual audio guides are available via the museum's app. The curator says the exhibition encourages reflection and action on how small daily behaviors connect to the planet.
