The Melon Music Awards (MMA2025) featuring headline acts like G-Dragon and Jennie drew major attention and reinforced Melon as a leading K-pop music platform. OTT service Wavve reported a spike in traffic and new paid subscribers after securing exclusive live-stream rights on the 20th, offering free live red carpet and main show streaming and VOD after the ceremony. G-Dragon dominated the night, winning seven awards including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (KakaoBank sponsor), and Best Song. Jennie won Record of the Year for her solo album Ruby. Newcomer honors went to All Day Project and Hearts to Hearts. The ceremony featured performances from EXO (debuting a new song “Back it up”), Park Jae-beom, Zico, aespa, IVE, NCT Wish and many others.
