The Korean Society for Laser, Skin and Hair (Daepimo) reported that about 4,300 people attended its 51st Autumn Scientific Meeting at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas on the 14th. The conference centered on the theme “From Energy to Signal,” reflecting a shift in aesthetic medicine from energy-based treatments toward understanding intercellular and tissue signaling. A book celebration marked the launch of Melanin, authored by Dr. Kim Hyung-moon (a head physician at Mayrin Clinic, Ilsan) and published by Springer, highlighting advances in melanin research and pigment therapy. Practical sessions co-hosted with law firm Bae, Kim & Lee (Taepyungyang) covered medical advertising rules, dealing with “black consumers” (malicious or fraudulent consumers), and legal risk management in clinics. The event also featured fan events, including autograph sessions with LG Twins baseball players Oh Ji-hwan and Lim Chan-kyu, and photo/interview sessions with celebrity ambassadors Park Hyung-sik and Kim Min-ha. Organizers say the meeting is now both a scientific conference and a cultural festival that aims to set new standards in Korean aesthetic medicine by blending academic depth with clinical practicality and contemporary trends.
