InoSpace will attempt a third launch of HANBIT-Nano, Korea’s first commercial orbital launcher, from Brazil’s Alcântara Launch Center on Dec. 23 at 03:45 local time (Dec. 22 15:45 KST). This is the final window for the Spaceward mission after two earlier attempts were halted by technical issues (oxidizer supply cooling, ground power and a malfunctioning vent valve). Weather is the main remaining variable—seasonal rains in the region could force timing changes. If the launch is postponed again, the next earliest slot is expected in the first half of next year. HANBIT-Nano aims to deploy customer small satellites into 300 km, 40° inclination low Earth orbit (LEO) and carry experimental payloads. A successful flight would mark a shift from government-led to private-sector Korean spaceflight and highlight InoSpace’s low-cost hybrid engine approach for sub-90 kg small satellites.
