Seoul Tourism Organization announced extended hours for two popular night attractions: the 2025 Seoul Lantern Festival (Seoul Bit Chorong Festival) will run until 11 PM and the 2025 Gwanghwamun Market until 10 PM. The longer hours aim to let commuters and domestic and international visitors enjoy the city’s nighttime scenes more comfortably and help spread peak crowds. The lantern festival, known for illuminated displays along the Cheonggyecheon (Cheonggye Stream), will increase operating time from four to five hours. Safety and visitor guidance will also be strengthened: weekend and holiday safety staff will rise from 60 to 71, extra attendants in high-traffic areas will wear fluorescent vests, public announcements and signs will manage crowding, and emergency communication and response procedures will be rechecked. The move is intended to boost convenience, safety, and local business activity while letting more people experience Seoul’s night charm.
