Check Your Earwax Color for Health Indicators

Recent research suggests that the color of earwax can indicate your health status. Ashish Shah from The Hearing Care Partnership in the UK explains that yellow or light brown earwax is a sign of healthy ears. Dark brown earwax might indicate excessive buildup or the presence of an infection. Red-tinted earwax could signal bleeding, possibly from Q-tip use, requiring medical attention. Green or white earwax may suggest an infection. Earwax naturally protects the ear by preventing dryness and blocking entry of dust and bacteria. It usually doesn't need to be removed unless it causes hearing issues. Finally, maintaining ear health includes regular ENT visits and eating foods good for ear health, like fish rich in Omega-3s and vegetables high in folate and vitamins.
