Jeju Selected to Host 2027 National Marine Sports Games

Jeju has been chosen to host the 19th Nationwide Marine Sports Games in July–September 2027, South Korea’s largest annual marine sports event run by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries since 2006. After a selection process in September–October, the island will stage four official events—yacht, canoe, fin swimming, and triathlon—alongside exhibition events like dragon boat, inflatable boat, and sea swimming, plus community activities for clubs and the public. Organizers expect about 6,000 athletes and up to 100,000 total participants. Officials said Jeju’s beautiful seas and natural scenery make it an ideal venue and pledged to prepare the island to grow as a global marine leisure hub.
