Veteran Jazz Singer Kim Jun Mourns Late Actress Yoon Seok-hwa, Says She Was Preparing an Album

Mourners continued to pay respects at the funeral of late actress Yoon Seok-hwa (69) at Severance Hospital in Sinchon, Seoul. On December 20, celebrities including Song Il-gook (with his three children), Hong Ji-min, Shin Yoo-chung, Jeon Soo-kyung, Lee Moon-se (singer), and actor Hwang Jung-min visited the wake. First-generation Korean jazz singer Kim Jun attended with his wife, placing a single rose and recalling his close spiritual friendship with Yoon. Kim said Yoon had been preparing an album and was rehearsing a song he composed titled "Happy Woman" when she passed, expressing sadness. He praised her passionate, expressive artistry, likening her dedication to “La Vie en Rose” and saying he brought a rose to honor her spirit. A memorial service was held at Dongsung Church, with additional services continuing through December 21; the funeral is scheduled for December 21 and will be organized by the Theatre Artists Welfare Foundation.
