Social enterprise Ggamgammanse, which runs the private hometown-donation platform Wegive (위기브), is offering a pre-booking donation service while government and linked private donation systems undergo scheduled performance checks. The national “Hometown Love Donation” program (고향사랑기부제) and connected platforms pause when any of 16 interlinked systems across six agencies need updates, so Wegive invites donors to leave a reservation comment on its site during downtime and complete the gift once services resume. All participants who finish their donation after the outage receive 2,000 Naver Pay points. Wegive says the pre-booking measure aims to keep donation momentum and reduce donor inconvenience caused by complex, tightly coupled technical infrastructure; the company previously ran a similar service during a 32-day outage after a government data center fire. Wegive’s CEO emphasizes the platform’s role in helping citizens contribute to regional economic revitalization and balance even during technical interruptions.
