On December 31 at 7:30 PM, Suseong Artpia will host a large year-end concert titled “Ode to Joy,” featuring hundreds of choristers and an orchestra. The program opens with Beethoven’s Egmont Overture, follows with Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto No.1 in A minor (soloist: cellist Kim Hojung), and concludes with Beethoven’s Symphony No.9 in D minor, featuring the choral finale “Ode to Joy.” Conductor Ji Joong-bae will lead the performance with soloists soprano Lee Yoon-kyung, mezzo-soprano Yang Song-mi, tenor Son Ji-hoon, and bass Jeon Tae-hyun. Local ensembles — Gumi City Choir, Daegu Opera Choir, and Gyeongsangbuk-do Provincial Symphony Orchestra — join for a grand collaboration of choir and orchestra. Tickets range from 20,000 to 50,000 KRW; the concert is suitable for elementary school children and older. (Suseong Artpia: a cultural arts venue in Daegu)
