Swiss haute watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled a three-piece limited Reverso collection—Reverso Tribute Enamel Xu Beihong—that reproduces paintings by Chinese modern artist Xu Beihong on the case backs. The miniature enamel paintings depict horses (symbolizing courage and vitality in East Asian culture) and were executed by the brand’s Métiers Rares™ artisans using endangered crafts like guilloché (기요셰), grand feu enamel (그랑 푀 에나멜링), marquetry (마케트리), and lacquer. Transferring large ink-wash originals to roughly 2 cm² case backs took intense focus; one enamel back requires about 80 hours of a single craftsman’s work. Front dials feature different guilloché patterns and fired enamel colors to match each theme: The Running Horse, Two Horses, and The Standing Horse. All three “time-only” models use Jaeger’s manual Calibre 822, come in white gold (45.6 × 27.4 mm, 9.73 mm thick), and are limited to 10 pieces worldwide per model.
