Hansei Corp. Wins Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy Award for Sustainable Management

Hansei (한세실업) received the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s commendation at the 2025 Sustainable Management Government Awards for excellence in ESG (environment, social, governance). The company was recognized for practical emissions reductions—installing solar panels, buying renewable energy certificates (REC), using biofuels—and joining the SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative) with targets to cut greenhouse gases 46.6%, fossil fuel use 50%, and energy use 10.5% by 2029 from 2019 levels. On the social side, Hansei expanded employee benefits (company loan program, women’s rest and nursing rooms, flexible schedules for parents) and was certified as a family-friendly company in 2024; it also runs multilingual channels and human-rights impact assessments across overseas factories. For governance, the firm introduced a board evaluation system to strengthen board independence, expertise and transparent decision-making. Hansei’s leadership says the award will accelerate their work to build a sustainable fashion ecosystem with suppliers, communities and customers.
