The Korea Racing Authority (KRA) has hired Australian race announcer Luke Humphries to boost the global presence of Korean horse racing. Humphries, who started broadcasting part-time at age 14 and worked as a full-time harness racing announcer in Victoria, Australia, has since called races across four continents (including San Isidro in Argentina, Gávea in Brazil, Outeuil in France, and Veliefendi in Turkey). He will provide live English race commentary at Korean tracks, prepare race previews and insights for overseas customers, and write English columns and articles to help international fans enjoy Korean racing. The KRA says the move is a strategic investment to meet growing overseas demand and raise international recognition and content quality, leveraging Humphries’ global experience and fresh perspective. (In Australia, horse-racing betting is highly popular and Korean races are broadcast live there.)
