Christmas Festival Lights Up Myeong-dong: "2025 Myeong-dong, Brighten the Winter"

The Archdiocese of Seoul will hold the two-day Christmas festival "2025 Myeong-dong, Brighten the Winter" on Dec. 24–25 around Myeong-dong Cathedral. The annual event shares the spirit of Christmas with visitors through a variety of programs, including a Christmas market, music performances, live broadcasts and theater. At the market in front of the Myeong-dong Catholic Center, priests will personally sell mulled wine (vangsyo) and sausages, while young artists display handmade religious items and crafts. Carol concerts will be held at the cathedral’s Virgin Mary Garden featuring children’s choirs, and the nearby 1898 Plaza will host the "1898 Music Salon," a mini concert blending classical, jazz and Korean traditional music (gugak). Plays such as "The Fourth Wise Man" and "Will You Be My Friend?" will be staged at the cathedral’s Familia Chapel. Full program details are available on the Archdiocese website.
