Seoul City Dance Company presents 'Choreographer Lab: Duo' from Dec 18–21 at Sejong Center S Theater, a finale featuring five 10-minute Korean dance duets created by company members. Celebrating a year in which the company sold out every performance, artistic director Yoon Hye-jung programmed a compact format to explore diverse duet methods instead of the usual 30–40 minute double bills. Company dancers Yoo Jae-seong and Han Ji-hyang perform the fourth piece, 'Afterwarm,' a lyrical duet with live piano that explores the lingering warmth of loss (e.g., memory of a departed loved one). Other duets use video or laser lighting for contrasting effects. The program highlights opportunities for in-house choreographers to develop distinct voices and lets audiences compare different directing styles in quick succession.
