Yeongdeok County in North Gyeongsang Province has completed the 'Chuksan Blue City' redevelopment project in the Chuksan-myeon area, announced on the 17th. From 2020 to 2025 the county invested about 19.25 billion won to boost culture, tourism and living conditions around Chuksan Port. Upgrades include restoration and expansion of Jukdosan Observatory (a 360-degree viewpoint), road and deck installations, creation of a 'Blue Village', the Sejong Dongjin Nuri Park and Mirinae Plaza, and renovation of the Hoetbuldongsan hiking trail. The Jukdosan Observatory now features enlarged outdoor plazas on the first and second floors and refreshed facilities, enhancing views of the East Sea and Chuksan Port. Officials expect the area to emerge as a linked tourism hub with the Blue Road walking route, parks, plazas and the observatory drawing visitors.
