Nowon District has reopened the Suraksan Early-Childhood Forest Experience Center after six months of refurbishment. Designed to preserve the natural shape of the forest, the site connects with Surak-hu (a city natural rest forest) and adds upgraded rest facilities and three treehouse-inspired play structures featuring plank roofs, skylights, and aerial nets to encourage adventurous play. The center also includes rope playgrounds, a hollow-tree play area, a sand playground, a moss garden, and a fern garden to foster children’s creativity and imagination. Nowon operates five such early-childhood forest centers across the district. The mayor said the initiative aims to expand safe, creative outdoor learning spaces and make Nowon more child-friendly.
