Korean group sound Jannabi celebrated their 11th year by releasing a two-part full-length album, "Sound of Music," and pouring a year into creating 22 songs. The duo (Choi Jung-hoon, Kim Do-hyung) adopted a disciplined, project-like approach—working daily in the studio—to capture inspiration quickly rather than hiding away until perfection. Part 1 (released in April) leans toward dreamlike, "space" themes and featured a collaboration with aespa’s Karina, while Part 2 (October) grounds the music in "earthly" realities. Their arrangements blend classic, retro sensibilities with experimental sounds—guitars, synths, strings, brass and percussion—woven to create strong narrative and sonic continuity across tracks. Choi emphasized writing personal, honest lyrics (citing songs inspired by travel, books and real moments) and treating the album as a tribute to music that sustained them for 11 years. The band also made indie history by selling out KSPO Dome (Olympic Gymnastics Arena) — a milestone from busking at Seohyeon Station to performing for over 10,000 fans— and played overseas shows, including Taiwan. Looking ahead, they plan intimate year-end concerts and expect more playful, meaningful music as they balance dream and reality.
