The renowned German gallery, Esther Schipper, expands its Seoul location just three years after its initial opening on Gyeongridan-gil. Despite global challenges in the art market, the gallery sees Seoul as a strategic base in Asia due to a strong client presence. Esther Schipper, established in Cologne in 1989, already has locations in Berlin and Paris. The gallery began collaborating with Korean artist Jun Hyun-seon last year and plans to include more Korean artists, highlighting the blend of traditional Korean materials and international themes in their work. The gallery supports introducing Korean artists internationally while expanding its influence in Asia through the Seoul branch.
