Year-End 'Hope Song' Gugak Concert with Gyeongbuk Provincial Gugak Orchestra at Daedeok Cultural Center

Daedeok Cultural Center will present a year-end gugak (Korean traditional music) concert titled 'Hope Song' on the 20th at Dream Hall. The Gyeongbuk Provincial Gugak Orchestra, a 32-member traditional orchestra conducted by Park Kyung-hyun, will perform pieces reflecting on the past year and expressing hopes for the coming year. Featured performers include sorikkun (traditional vocalists) Nam Sang-il and Park Ae-ri, gayageum (12-string zither) player Jung Mi-hwa, and ajaeng (bowed zither) player Hong Min-ju. The program, hosted by broadcaster Kim Jong-sik, opens with Daechwita by the Nam-gu Nongak Ensemble and includes a gugak-style 'Christmas medley,' a boat song for orchestra, and collaborative concertos showcasing local artists—aimed at audiences across generations.
