Lee Kyung-soo, chairman of global cosmetics ODM (original design manufacturer) Cosmax, held a book concert at Seoul National University to mark the release of his memoir "I Want to Dream Together." About 200 students and Seoul National University officials attended. Lee recounted Cosmax’s 33‑year journey from its founding through the IMF crisis, the decision to build an independent research lab instead of partnering with Japan, and the strategic move into China that helped make Cosmax the world’s top ODM. He emphasized speed, global reach, and consumer-driven innovation, and urged students to prepare and gather supporters to seize opportunities. On K‑Beauty, Lee said the industry’s biggest achievement was turning “Made in Japan” into “Made in Korea,” and called for raising K‑Beauty’s image from value‑for‑money to include premium appeal — aiming next to replace “Made in France” with “Made in Korea.” Cosmax also collaborates with Seoul National University through a technology incubation center and recently won a CES 2026 innovation award for an all‑in‑one custom cosmetics manufacturing system called "MaxFace."
