Chinese toy firm Pop Mart, after the huge success of its signature character LaBubu, is accelerating global growth by partnering with well-known IPs like Teletubbies and Disney. LaBubu drove about 35% of Pop Mart’s sales in early 2025, helped by blind-box mechanics, collectible keyring designs, celebrity exposure, TikTok unboxing trends, and an “ugly-cute” aesthetic that appeals to Gen Z. The company’s strategy is to leverage LaBubu’s collector fandom while using familiar, mass-appeal characters to attract broader audiences. Recent results show rapid gains—Q3 2025 revenue tripled year-on-year, with North American sales surging over 1,200%—and analysts say Pop Mart’s diversified IP portfolio could push annual revenue toward 30 billion yuan. By applying blind boxes, keyrings, and figurines to established IPs, Pop Mart aims to lower reliance on a single hit and sustain global expansion and revenue stability.
