Korean importer The HQ Co., the official distributor of Chinese premium baijiu Moutai, sponsored the 2025 Seoul International Film Awards held at Seoul Dragon City. The company said the collaboration strengthens Moutai’s brand presence in Korea by creating a bridge between global spirits and cultural–art content. Moutai, considered China’s national liquor (國酒) and one of the world’s top spirits, is a 53% ABV sauce‑aroma (jiangxiang) baijiu known for a smooth finish, balanced sweetness, and low hangover. Its elaborate production—steaming sorghum nine times, fermenting eight times, distilling on the seventh, and aging 3–5 years—yields rarity and symbolic value. The HQ also operates a travel agency in Jeju to attract Chinese cruise tourists, signaling broader market and promotional strategies in Korea.
