Choi Young-nam, an 80-year-old singer and painter from Korea, embraces the concept of light-hearted and humorous art in his new exhibition, 'Amazing Transformation! Korean Pop Art, Choi Young-nam!' held in Seoul. Known for his famous songs like 'Moran Dongbaek', Choi turned to painting as a release from the stress of his music career. His art reinterprets famous pieces with a playful twist, provoking amusement and delight. Choi believes that art shouldn't be bound by strict rules like music and emphasizes creativity over technical skill. His works include innovative subjects like Korean Hwa-too cards as motifs. Despite the rise of AI art, Choi is confident that creativity and originality remain human traits that machines cannot replicate. The exhibition runs until the 2nd of next month.
