Naju Small Museum in Jeollanam-do opens a special exhibition, “Staying in Naju: Landscapes of Memory,” from the 17th through Jan 15, featuring 33 works loaned free by the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) Art Bank. The show — supported by the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service’s small museum program — aims to bring high-quality contemporary art to a regional audience. Works by leading Korean artists such as Kang Yo-bae and Lee Wal-jong, alongside other domestic and international artists, are displayed across two buildings (painting and photography), exploring themes of nature, city, memory and everyday life and how those works gain new meanings in the place called Naju. Curatorial placement leverages the museum’s unique layout to enhance viewing, and admission is free (open 10:00–18:00); group visits require prior booking.
