Naju Small Museum in Jeollanam-do opens a special exhibition, “Staying in Naju: Landscapes of Memory,” displaying 33 works from the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art’s (MMCA) Art Bank from Dec 17 to Jan 15. Part of the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service’s (한국문화예술위원회) 2025 Small Museum support project, the show aims to bring contemporary art to a regional small city by lending works from leading Korean artists such as Kang Yo-baek and Lee Wal-jong. The free exhibition runs daily 10:00–18:00 in the museum’s building 4 (painting) and 5 (photography); group visits require prior reservation. Curator Na Seon-ho is praised for integrating the museum’s unique spaces with the Art Bank collection to shape visitor pathways and displays, encouraging viewers to overlay personal memories onto the works and discover their own “landscapes of memory.” The Naju Small Museum, opened in 2023 in a remodeled Naju mill building (정미소), serves as the city’s first modern art venue and a community cultural hub.
