According to food industry sales data for the first half of the year, Saewookkang (새우깡) was the best‑selling snack in South Korea with 57.8 billion won in retail sales, retaining its top spot from last year. Orion’s Pokachip (포카칩) came in second with 54.4 billion won, showing the largest growth among the top ten (up 8.1% year‑on‑year). Other top sellers included Orion Choco Pie (초코파이), Lotte Wellfood Pepero (빼빼로), Nongshim/Kellogg’s Pringles (프링글스), Lotte’s Kkokkalcorn (꼬깔콘), Haitai Home Run Ball (홈런볼), Ferrero Rocher (페레로 로쉐), Lotte’s Ghana chocolate (가나), and Orion Squid Peanut (오징어땅콩). Home Run Ball was the only biscuit in the top ten and is close to reaching 2 trillion won in cumulative sales; it’s known as a popular baseball stadium snack. By manufacturer market share, Orion led with 23.8%, followed closely by Nongshim (23.6%), Crown Confectionery (9.5%), Lotte Wellfood (8.7%), and Haitai (7.8%).
