Chilean Pisco & Cocktail Show Introduces Traditional Chilean Brandy to Seoul

The Chilean Embassy in Seoul, ProChile, and Pisco Chile hosted the "Chilean Pisco & Cocktail Show" at Sofitel Ambassador Seoul’s rooftop bar to introduce pisco, Chile’s traditional wine-based distilled spirit, to around 50 media, influencers, and spirits professionals. ProChile shipped ten high-quality piscos from Chile for five leading Seoul bartenders to create original cocktails—some inspired by Korean flavors like sikhye (traditional sweet rice punch) and winter fruits. Chilean Ambassador Mathias Francke highlighted pisco’s 500-year history and cultural significance, noting its versatile aroma profile that suits both classic and modern mixology. ProChile representatives called the event an important step to grow pisco’s presence in Korea. The presentation explained pisco’s production in northern Chile’s Pisco D.O. (Designation of Origin), where aromatic grape varieties such as Muscat and Torrontel are distilled and the pure “heart” fraction is collected. Guests praised Korea’s vibrant mixology scene and interest in pisco, signaling potential for expanded collaboration and creative recipes in the Korean market.
