Gyeonggi-do Public Health and Environment Research Institute tested 125 samples of popular delivery cooked foods — including tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), chicken, coffee, and soups — collected from 31 cities and counties between February and last month. All samples were found free of major foodborne bacteria such as E. coli, Salmonella, and Staphylococcus aureus. The institute has conducted annual safety inspections since 2021 as delivery platforms have become routine, and last year’s 136 samples also met safety standards. The institute advised eating delivery foods promptly and warned that leaving them at room temperature raises the risk of food poisoning; it pledged continued monitoring to ensure safe food for residents.
