On December 18 at 7:30 PM, conductor Ham Shin-ik and the civilian orchestra Symphony Song will present the 10th concert of the 2025 Masters Series at Lotte Concert Hall. Timed for the Christmas season, the program features three masterpieces spanning Baroque to Classical: Arcangelo Corelli’s “Christmas Concerto, Op. 6 No. 8” opening with a lyrical, reverent mood; Part 6 of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Christmas Oratorio, BWV 248,” blending choral, solo, and orchestral forces; and Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 “Choral,” a work symbolizing humanity and peace. Four soloists—soprano Kim Sun-young, mezzo-soprano Kim Sun-jung, tenor Lee Myung-hyun, and bass Jung In-ho—will join the orchestra. Ham described Symphony Song as an innovative model of a Korean private (min-gan) orchestra and asked for public support as they pursue new artistic directions.
