Life of Pi Musical Debuts in Seoul, Starring Park Jung-min

The stage adaptation of Life of Pi opened at GS Art Center in Seoul, marking a fresh ‘live on stage’ production that blends puppetry, digital video, lighting and sound to recreate young Pi’s 227-day survival voyage with the Bengal tiger Richard Parker. Popular actor Park Jung-min returns to the stage after eight years in the lead role. Puppeteers (perpettiers) bring animals to life—three puppeteers operate Richard Parker’s head, chest and tail—while digital effects create waves, rain and starry skies for immersive scenes. The show emphasizes the power of storytelling and invites audience imagination. Other international musical hits running in Korea include Moulin Rouge!, Kinky Boots and Beetlejuice, featuring well-known Korean musical stars and large-scale productions.
