South Korean apparel firm Shinsung Tongsang said its children’s brand Topten Kids will strengthen its quality control by introducing a five-step, multi-layer inspection process and seeking outside expert advice. The move follows consumer complaints in October about graphic text on some products; the company recalled affected items and issued full refunds. New checks cover design planning, artwork review, legal/compliance cross-checks, sample phase, and mass production release. Risks from typos to discriminatory or hateful expressions will be classified and managed by severity. Topten Kids is also exploring partnerships with agencies specializing in copywriting and cultural-linguistic review to verify the language and cultural appropriateness of garment graphics and prints. In addition, key staff completed child safety and child-rights training to improve internal awareness. The company said the upgrades aim to meet rising social expectations for children’s apparel and reassure parents and children.
