Hermès treats watches as expressions of design and philosophy rather than mere timekeepers. The Maillon Libre ("link" + "free") high-jewelry collection reinterprets the maison’s Chaîne d’Ancre motif (anchor chain) across full-link bracelets and brooch-watch formats, set with diamonds and tourmalines in rose or white gold. Two models revive the Le Temps Suspendu ("suspended time") mechanism: Arceau Le Temps Suspendu uses an asymmetrical, stirrup-inspired case and hides hands and date when a button is pressed, while Hermès Cut Le Temps Suspendu features an irregular round case and a 24-second indicator that rotates counterclockwise to metaphorically reverse time. Both demonstrate Hermès’ blend of craft, poetic mechanics, and gender-fluid styling.
