Foodist’s private brand, SikjawaeWang, has launched a new ‘rice-powder boneless tonkatsu’ using domestically produced rice powder. Developed in collaboration with Sajo Group affiliates and supported by a government program, the product aims to expand use of local ingredients and lower carbon emissions as part of ESG efforts. The rice powder coating reduces oil absorption, producing a less greasy, more digestible, and longer-lasting crispy texture. Each 100g piece targets a wide range of customers — restaurants, households, school meals, and care facilities — as a healthier menu option. The package features the Ministry of Agriculture’s rice-powder mascot, and the company says the product symbolizes cooperation among producers, distributors, and consumers to promote domestic crop consumption.
