At a press call for the new original musical 'The Man in Hanbok' (한복 입은 남자) at Chunmu Art Center, lead actors Park Eun-tae and Shin Sung-rok discussed the show's appeal and their dedication. Park, who plays the genius Jang Yeong-sil and his modern counterpart Young-sil/Kang-bae, said he deeply empathized with the character — so much that he found himself crying in the shower during rehearsals, as he imagined Jang Yeong-sil longing for Joseon until his death. Shin, portraying King Sejong and a modern PD Jin-seok, praised the musical’s Korean-themed material and the chance to explore Sejong on stage. The production features a 1-actor/2-role structure across Joseon and modern settings and uses rapid 'quick-change' costume and character switches to maintain flow; actors rely on dozens of crew members to complete changes in 30–40 seconds. The show runs through March 8 next year.
