Musinsa, South Korea’s leading K-fashion platform, won the paid subway station co-naming bid for Seoul Subway Line 2’s Seongsu Station, so announcements and signage will now read “Seongsu (Musinsa).” The three-year deal (with one possible three-year renewal) cost about 329 million won. Musinsa has already anchored Seongsu-dong with multiple stores and offices—7 retail locations and several offices—and moved its headquarters there in 2022, creating a “Musinsa Town.” The company plans a large mixed retail “Musinsa Megastore Seongsu” (mega store) to open next year and is investing in the area to build a broader “K-fashion cluster,” including long-term leases of shops to incubate brands. The chain’s Seongsu stores draw many foreign tourists (notably young Japanese and Chinese women), accounting for 60–70% of some store sales, and Musinsa’s activities are reshaping retail, real estate investment, and cultural tourism in Seongsu-dong.
