Nongshim will release the third product in its bakery snack 'Bbangbujang' series, called 'Matcha Bread', on the 15th. Using domestic Jeju matcha powder, the new croissant-shaped snack blends the bitter-sweet flavor of matcha with the creaminess of milk to recreate popular "matcha latte" taste. Matcha's popularity among younger consumers has surged (online mentions rose about 67% year-on-year through October), prompting the company to reinterpret the global trend as a convenient bakery snack available nationwide and online. The product follows hits like the salt and chocolate Bbangbujang items.
