Korail Launches Daejeon Old Town Train Tour Featuring Gugak Wine Train

Korail’s Daejeon-Chungnam headquarters, in cooperation with Daejeon city and Dong-gu, has launched a Daejeon old-town train tour centered on Sojedong railroad staff village (철도관사촌). The one-day itinerary, operating three times this month, departs from Seoul Station and stops at cultural sites including the 100-year-old railroad staff village, ArtSite Soje, and Daecheong Lake meditation garden. The trip is linked with the “gugak wine train” offering onboard wine tasting and traditional Korean music (gugak) performances. Korail hopes the railroad-linked cultural product will boost revitalization of Daejeon’s old downtown and local economy.
