The 53rd Gangjin Celadon Festival has begun in South Korea and will continue until March 3. Taking place in Gangjin-gun, this festival marks the first of its kind for the year, symbolizing the transition between winter and spring. Featuring 65 events across 8 categories, the festival highlights celadon (a type of Korean pottery) with interactive programs such as clay stomping and celadon excavation that encourage the participation of all ages. Amidst the chilly weather, activities like pottery wheel shaping are hosted inside an air dome for comfort. The children’s zones include popular characters and sing-along shows. Additional hands-on activities include wild herb collecting and traditional wood stove experiences. The organized celebrations aim to establish the Gangjin Celadon Festival as a key spring attraction in Korea.
