CJ Olive Young reports a rise in “pro self-care” K-beauty trends as consumers favor salon-level results at home. During its Nov. 30–Dec. 6 sale, demand grew for at-home beauty devices, eyelash-perm kits and no-glue false lashes, with searches for “no-glue lashes” up 265% and “lash perm” up 967%. Olive Young introduced in-store “eyelash bars” for customers to try styling tools and products. Sheet masks evolved into more convenient formats like toner pads and wash-off packs, while foam-type “bubble packs” saw searches surge 1,448%. In wellness, ingredients once limited to topical dermatological products—such as retinol, glutathione and mucin (snail secretion used in skincare)—are appearing as edible “active inner-beauty” supplements; mucin-based ingestible products’ sales jumped dramatically. Probiotic lines expanded into targeted categories like skin, oral and women’s health, and searches for “diet probiotics” rose 410%. Olive Young is also hosting pop-up stores to showcase award-winning products through the end of the month.
