Domino’s Pizza Korea held its national FPM (Fastest Pizza Maker) championship, open to any employee, after regional preliminaries in Seoul and Busan. Top qualifiers competed at the company model store on the 5th, and deputy store manager Kwon Chae-rin from Ulsan Samsan won by making three pizzas in 1 minute 34 seconds. The winner receives prize money and a spot in the Asia-Pacific FPM next January (about 20 countries participating). The Asia-Pacific top finishers will be eligible for the global WFPM (World’s Fastest Pizza Maker) final held in Las Vegas next May as part of Domino’s World Wide Rally. FPM began in the U.S. in 1982 as a brand culture event—contestants race to prepare three pizzas (pepperoni, mushroom, cheese) as perfectly and quickly as possible—to boost staff morale and highlight Domino’s speed and quality. The global WFPM final attracts thousands of Domino’s employees and awards the title and prizes to the world’s top pizza maker.
